New application for registration of a trademark (PS-201)
Use this form to apply for trademark registration. A trademark can be a name, a logo, a slogan or another distinctive sign that you can use to distinguish your good and services from those of others. The form is also used for collective marks and guarantee or certification marks.
Who should use this form?
Individuals, enterprises or representatives acting on behalf of an applicant can file an application. If you are applying on behalf of and enterprise, you must ask the general manager to give you the access package « Matters relating to the enterprise - Patents, trademarks and designs». Altinn - Request authorisation.

Your application and all documents related to it will be published in our trademark register.
We generally withhold sensitive information and information subject to a duty of confidentiality. You can ask us to exempt trade secrets from public disclosure. Clearly mark the information in the application or in attachments that you want to be exempted. We will then assess whether the information can be exempted from public disclosure.
You will receive the fastest processing if you use pre - approved goods and services and pay when you submit the application. If you enter your own goods and services, the processing time may be several months longer.
What happens after the form has been submitted?
The application receipt and any payment receipt will be displeyed once you have submitted the application. They will also be available in your archive in Altinn.
You will find letters from us in your Altinn inbox. Letters will also be published in the trademark register.
