The new Altinn – simpler, safer and more modern
Altinn has been an important digital portal for citizens and businesses for over 20 years. As technology develops faster, so does Altinn. That is why we are now building a new Altinn platform that provides even better security, more modern solutions and is easier to use for you.
What will be better for you as a user of Altinn?
- Easier to use: Clear design, simpler language and mobile-friendly solution.
- Better overview of messages: An inbox that collects letters, notifications and receipts, and shows who has read the messages and whether a case is in progress.
- Safer and more secure: Your personal data is protected on a modern platform that is better equipped against digital threats.
- System access and integration: Professional system suppliers can use system access to connect their systems to services in Altinn, giving you as an end user safer and more stable integrations without the use of personal logins.
- Open source and co-creation: Public agencies can build solutions that are shared and reused, and more quickly develop new services that meet real needs.
How will we roll out the changes?
Since Altinn is used by many public agencies and everything must work together, the changes will be rolled out gradually. You may therefore notice that some features are missing or look different at first. Think of it like a puzzle: in the beginning you only see a few pieces, but bit by bit the whole comes into place.
As part of our agile way of working, you get to try new versions of the solution along the way. This autumn, we will launch the first version of, among other things, the inbox and system access. You will be able to use the new inbox, while the current inbox will still be available during the transition period until all content has been moved over to the new one. System access is a new feature that will be available to accounting firms, auditing firms and other businesses that want to connect professional systems directly to services in Altinn.
