Approval of training institutions offering training for commercial drivers
Educational establishments wishing to offer professional driver training must apply for approval from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

The educational institution must have a teaching responsible who is approved by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. You apply for approval of the teaching responsible in the same application form as for becoming an approved educational institution.
Currently, no special approval is required for those who will teach within professional driver education. However, there are competence requirements for the teachers, and it is the school's responsibility to use qualified teachers.

From 1 July 2022, however, the teaching staff must also be approved and registered in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's register. Approval is granted after a documented application.

Case processing deadlines:
The approval authority must acknowledge receipt of your application within one month after it has been received, and inform you of any missing documents or deficiencies in the application. The approval authority must have processed the application within one month after the application was complete.
Right of appeal:
Once the approval authority has made a decision, you have the right to appeal this decision according to the rules in Chapter VI of the Public Administration Act.
