About this form

If a person or enterprise does not have a valid Norwegian ID number, they must apply for a TRK number when they are declaring goods with Norwegian Customs. The following need to apply to Norwegian Customs for a TRK number:

  • Any person who does not have a Norwegian national identity number or D-number. A D-number is a temporary ID number. Read more about D-numbers at the Norwegian Tax Administration
  • Any person who has a Norwegian national identity number or D-number, but who has emigrated from Norway or who is, or recently has been, resident abroad
  • Enterprises that do not have a Norwegian organization number in the Register of Business Enterprises

If you have received a TRK number in the past, you can use this – you need not reapply

This form is intended for use by private individuals and enterprises declaring goods on their own behalf. Alternatively, the form can be filled out and submitted by a freight forwarder, carrier, lawyer or other person representing the person who needs a TRK number.

Private individuals who are applying on behalf of another person must attach authorization from the person who is applying for a TRK. Lawyers do not need to attach authorization, but must specify the name of their law firm.

If you do not have a Norwegian social security number or D number, you can create a user.

It is important that you attach all necessary documentation, so that Norwegian Customs is able to process your application. Missing attachments can lead to longer processing times.

Private individuals must attach the following:

  • Copy of valid ID, such as a passport
  • Clearance document, invoice or consignment note for the goods in question
If you are moving to Norway and will import household goods privately, you attach a completed declaration of import of household goods, which you can find here.

Enterprises must attach the following:

  • Invoice/consignment note identifying the consignment with the appropriate ID number, TIN/TNI/EORI/UEI or DUNS, etc., and the enterprise’s country of origin
  • If the ID number is not specified on the invoice/consignment note, you must attach a document confirming the enterprise’s ID number. This could be a certificate of registration from a foreign public register of enterprises, with their foreign organization number

Approved file formats for attachments to Norwegian Customs are .jpeg, .png, .docx, .jpg, .pdf, .pptx, and .xlsx
