Permit to discharge oily wastewater
If you intend to establish, expand or convert a business that generates oily wastewater, you must apply for a discharge permit from the municipality before you start up. By oily wastewater is meant effluent and urban runoff that contains engine oil, grease, kerosene, white spirit, gasoline etc.

Information on what is required in the application and the documentation that must be enclosed can be found in Section 15-4 of the Regulations relating to pollution control (Pollution Regulations).
To protect the external environment from pollution and to reduce existing pollution, to reduce the quantity of waste and to promote better waste management.
The following require a permit to discharge oily wastewater:
- petrol stations
- car wash installations (Section 15-1 of the Regulations)
- motor workshops
- bus terminals
- workshops and provisioning stations for vehicles, construction equipment and rolling stock
- facilities for undercarriage treatment which either have a cleaning station, lubrication bay, service bay etc.
