The application can only be submitted by professionals/individuals to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet).
To work as a semen technician/inseminator, you must have authorization from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet).
Language requirements: No, there are no language requirements.
Processing deadlines: The approval authority shall confirm receipt of your application within one month after it has been received, and inform you of any missing documents or deficiencies in the application. The approval authority must complete the processing of the application within three months after the application was complete.
Fee: The Norwegian Food Safety Authority does not charge a fee for processing an application for authorization.
Appeal of decision: Once the approval authority has made a decision, you have the right to appeal the decision according to the rules in Chapter VI of the Public Administration Act. Legal basis for the relevant profession:
FOR 1995-03-06 no. 239: Regulations on artificial insemination in livestock carried out by persons other than veterinarians § 3 .
FOR-2009-01-19-77 Regulations on the right to work as animal health personnel or semen personnel under the EEA Agreement.
