Anyone who is not a veterinary surgeon wishing to inseminate domestic animals in a specific herd or flock must apply for permission from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority in advance.
Start serviceConfirmation of passed course from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and documentation of the size of the herd must be enclosed with the application.
Criteria/conditions:
There are requirements relating to training which have been approved by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and the size of the herd.
In the case of cattle, a herd with at least 50 first-time inseminations annually is required.
Case processing deadlines:
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority must acknowledge receipt of your application within one month of receiving it and inform you of any missing or incomplete documentation.
Following the submission of a complete application, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority should complete processing your application within three months.
Fees:
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority does not charge a fee for processing applications for recognition.
Right of appeal:
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the decision, you may appeal in writing, pursuant to Chapter VI of the Public Administration Act.
