Approval of businesses producing medicated feed or intermediate products
Businesses intending to produce medicated feed or intermediate products need approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
Please note that medicated feed only includes the production of feed mixtures and intermediates with premix authorised for marketing by the Norwegian Medical Products Agency (NOMA) for use in medicated feed. Any other production of feed with medicinal products requires a production licence from the Norwegian Medical Products Agency (NOMA).

Approval is granted when the activities comply with the regulations for the production of medicated feed
Fee:
There is a fee associated with the application processing, according to the regulations on the payment of fees for special services from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, Appendix 1. The fee for approval of a business intending to produce medicated feed is currently NOK 13,600
Right of appeal:
You may appeal the decision. A complaint form will be included with the decision letter
