The Norwegian Register of Fishing Vessels - registration, changes and deregistration

All vessels that are used in commercial fisheries must be entered in the Norwegian Register of Fishing Vessels. Before a vessel can be registered in the Norwegian Register of Fishing Vessels, an application to use the vessel for commercial fisheries (commercial license has been issued) must be submitted.

Who should use this form?

The owner of the vessel or the party authorised by the vessel owner.

What should I attach?

When registering vessels and reporting change of ownership/change in ownership composition, there is a requirement that an updated register of shareholders/list of partners is enclosed for all companies that are co-owners in the company that owns the fishing vessel. Requirements for any additional documentation may also be seen in the commercial license.

Why should I use this form?

Chapter V of the Act relating to the right to fish and catch (Participation Act) Chapter V of Regulations relating to acquisition and commercial license, registration and identification of fishing vessels etc. (Commercial License Regulations)
