Approval of public and private hospitals to perform procedures pursuant to the Act relating to Sterilisation

Sterilisation procedures can generally be carried out at all public hospitals. Private hospitals must have public approval from the County Governor in order to perform these procedures. The County Governor can also approve standalone outpatient clinics/specialist practices outside hospitals when this is deemed prudent. Applications must be submitted to the County Governor in the relevant county.

Public and private hospitals that will carry out procedures in accordance with the Act relating to sterilisation.

The Regulations relating to the sterilisation of women etc. set conditions for the approval of enterprises outside of hospitals for sterilising women using laparoscopic techniques. Other forms of sterilisation procedures on women will not be possible to perform outside hospitals.
