Approval of authorised workshop engaged in the maintenance of aircraft material (EASA Form 2)

Workshops that intend to maintain aircraft equipment must first obtain authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway. Here, you will find information on how to apply and the conditions for authorisation.

About this form

Please send your application form to the Civil Aviation Authority.

The following documentation shall be enclosed with the application:

Applicant's full name, certificate of registration, enterprise name and address.
Workshop manager's education and practical experience.
Overview of other personnel. 
The type of authorisation for which approval is sought.
The premises' layout.
Whether premises are owned or rented.
Workshop manual. 

The Civil Aviation Authority issues authorisation certificates to authorised workshops that entitle them to carry out the following on aircraft:

Readying and inspection of aircraft in connection with issuing airworthiness certificates.
Service/inspection to ensure continued airworthiness.
Special inspections.
Minor and major repairs, minor and major modifications, and overhauling of aircraft material, cf. Annex 1 to the Regulations relating to authorised workshops. Repairs and modifications shall be carried out on the basis of approved documentation and use of aircraft material.

Criteria/conditions:

There are requirements for registration in the Register of Business Enterprises and for premises, aircraft material and equipment before approval can be granted.

Remarks:

A fee is charged for processing the application.
The authorisation is not limited in time, but it can be revoked, subjected to restrictions or suspended.
A fee must be paid in accordance with the applicable Regulations No 185 of 18 February 2011 relating to fees for the Civil Aviation Authority etc.
