Register beneficial owners (RRH-0100)

This service is meant for anyone who needs to register or update information about beneficial owners in an organisation.

Prior to starting the service you must find out whether the organisation has beneficial owners or not, and if so, who they are. Even if the organisation does not have beneficial owners, the form must still be submitted.

Please note that there is a difference between the criteria in The Beneficial Owners Act and The Money Laundering Act. 

Who is this service meant for?

All organisations subject to registration must register whether they have beneficial owners or not.

Who can fill out and submit the form?

The roles:

  • general manager
  • participant with shared liability
  • participant with unlimited liability
  • business manager
  • contact person
  • contact person NUF
  • deputy chair of the board
  • norwegian representative for a foreign business
  • board member
  • chair of the board

The access packages:

  • shares and ownership
  • auditor in charge
  • assistant auditor
  • accountant with signing rights
  • accountant without signing rights

You can also get access through the single service "registrering av reelle rettighetshavere". Then you will also need the access package "regular mail to business" or the single service "correspondence from the Register of Beneficial Owners" to be able to see decisions in respect to the registration.

Deadline for registration

All organisations subject to registration are obliged to register beneficial owners 14 days after being registered in a public register, at the latest.

If the organisation has new beneficial owners or other changes in this respect, the information must be updated within 14 days.

Which information must be registered?
  • full name
  • national identity number or d-number
    • birth date, if the person does not have a national identity number or d-number
  • country of residence
  • all citizenships
  • organisation number – where the basis is indirect

For individuals with a national identity number or d-number, several personal details will be retrieved from the National Population Register. For these individuals, you only need to enter the national identity number/d-number and surname. 

You must also state whether the person is a beneficial owner due to ownership, voting rights, the right to appoint or remove board members, or any other form of control or influence. You must also register whether the control is direct, indirect or exercised through agreements.
